Preparation Strategy
Tier 1 Strategy
Quantitative Aptitude (50 marks): This section has the highest scoring potential but also the highest time consumption risk. Focus on: percentages, profit and loss, ratio, time and work, and geometry — these cover 70%+ of questions. Practice speed calculation daily. Target 85%+ accuracy with under 60 seconds per question.
Reasoning (50 marks): The most learnable section. Analogies, series, and coding-decoding together cover about 40% of questions. Practice 30–40 questions daily. After 6–8 weeks of consistent practice, this section should be your most reliable scorer.
English (50 marks): Read English newspapers daily. Focus on grammar rules for error spotting, vocabulary for synonyms/antonyms, and comprehension speed. This section can be improved significantly with 45 minutes of daily practice.
General Awareness (50 marks): Cannot be crammed — requires consistent daily reading over months. Read one reliable monthly current affairs digest. Cover static GK (history, geography, polity, science) through standard references like Lucent GK.
Tier 2 Strategy
Tier 2 requires deeper preparation than Tier 1 — the questions are harder, the negative marking is steeper (1 mark per wrong answer), and the English section is at a higher level.
Mathematical Abilities: Advanced topics like geometry, trigonometry, and mensuration carry significant weight. These require dedicated preparation beyond Tier 1 level.
English Language: At graduation level — comprehension passages are longer and more complex. Active/passive voice, para jumbles, and cloze tests require specific practice.
General & Financial Awareness: Includes financial terms, budget basics, banking awareness, and current economic affairs. This is the new component most candidates underestimate.
